Zhao Fengchuan (赵枫川)

Zhao Fengchuan (1915-1988), also known as Mu Feng, was born in Dongyitou Village, Gao Yi County, Hebei Province. He joined the anti-Japanese revolutionary team in July 1938 and joined the Communist Party of China in October of the same year. During the War of Liberation, Zhao served as director of the Taihang District Literary Federation and as vice chairman of the Shanxi Provincial Fine Arts Association. After liberation,he took on many editorial and administrative functions, including President of the Beijing Academy of Painting (北京画院) and director of the China Artists Association (中国美术家协会).

Besides all this, Zhao was well-known as painter and calligrapher.
