The rural village of Dazhai becomes a national example in agriculture. With hammer and chisel peasants have constructed terraces on the mountainsides, just by starting and persevering - and believing Mao's maxims. Dazhai leader Chen Yonggui, pictured here, becomes a model in his own right.
