Ding Binzeng (丁斌曾)

Ding Binzeng (1927-2001) was born in Wuxing, Zhejiang Province. He was trained as a professional artist in Hangzhou before he joined the Shanghai People's Fine Arts Publishing House in 1952 as a pictorial story designer. He participated in many of the multi-volume cartoon series published by his unit. He and his co-designer Han Heping were awarded a prize for their comic strip Railroad guerilla. Together with Wang Zhongqing, he created the serial cartoon version of the model work Shajiabang (沙家浜).
